How it works

Our approach is based on the scientific biological-psychological model which shows how body and mind are always connected. Just think about speaking in front of hundreds of people. Your heart will start beating fast, you may get sweaty hands, and your tummy might feel a bit fluttery - a physiological response to something in your mind. The same can happen the opposite way - for instance a migraine that causes anxiety, possibly feeding back to your body as a panic attack.

Your body and mind are linked and constantly communicate. The good news is that - thanks to something called neuroplasticity - we can change the way our brains and bodies communicate, and optimise this conversation. This has an epigenetic effect on our bodies which means that good genes are switched on and bad ones are turned off, significantly reducing the risk of physical and mental illnesses and resulting in greater health and happiness and allowing us to fulfil our potential.

All our unique programmes work on all three levels  of the biological-psychological model and are based on the principles of neuroplasticity and epigenetics. They have been developed based on sound scientific research and years of practical experience in sport science, high performance psychology and mental skills training. All programmes are designed to easily integrate into everyday or work life, and work both your body and mind in uniquely designed programmes - to help you improve your health and happiness, achieve your goals, fulfil your potential and live your life better.

​Brigitte Cummings is the Head Coach at The Body Mind Coach. With her experience in competing and coaching in sport, over 15 years of experience in top management positions in the business world and a mum of two kids, Brigitte understands the challenges and demands sports, business and family can pose. With three University degrees in Business, Human Sciences, Sport and Psychology and various diplomas and certifications, she combines the best of scientific research with years of experience to create unique state-of-the-art programmes that help you reach your goals, fulfil your potential and ultimately live your life better. ​I used to be a total exercise-phobic, never enjoying or having any ambition to train. After a bad spell of health, my doctor advised some exercise. I got in touch with Brigitte thinking I need a professional Personal Trainer that can also help me with my motivation. And it worked! Brigitte is a very empathetic coach with a unique skillset. You can tell when you train with her. She really tunes in, understands, and turns things around seemingly with so much ease that only one with immense expertise and experience can. She makes sessions fun and varied, and is super motivating, positive and encouraging whilst giving everyone the chance to push themselves to their own limit. Brigitte's sessions are a fix point in my calendar and I look forward to them every week.
